Aljamain Sterling

Aljamain Sterling is a professional mixed martial artist (MMA) and former UFC Bantamweight Champion. Known by his nickname “Funk Master,” Sterling is widely recognized for his dynamic and creative fighting style, combining high-level wrestling, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and striking.

Sterling developed a strong wrestling foundation during his collegiate career at SUNY Cortland, where he became an NCAA Division III All-American. He later transitioned to mixed martial arts and quickly established himself as one of the most skilled fighters in the bantamweight division.

A black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Sterling has built much of his success on his grappling ability, securing several submission victories inside the UFC. Over the course of his career, he became one of the most accomplished bantamweights in the promotion’s history, capturing the UFC Bantamweight Championship and defending the title multiple times against elite opponents.
