Devhonte Johnson

Devhonte Johnson, also known as “Bones,” is a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt under Murilo Santana and one of the leading representatives of Unity Jiu-Jitsu on the international competitive circuit. Widely regarded as one of the top American grapplers of his generation, Devhonte built his reputation competing in the major tournaments of the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF).

Before reaching black belt, Johnson achieved remarkable success in the colored belt divisions, winning IBJJF World Championships at purple and brown belt as well as multiple Pan-American and European titles. His transition to black belt competition continued this success, particularly in no-gi tournaments.

Known for his aggressive passing style and dynamic submission attacks, Devhonte has earned victories at some of the sport’s biggest events, including the IBJJF No-Gi World Championship and IBJJF Pan-American No-Gi Championship. In addition to competing internationally, he runs Bones BJJ Academy in Clifton, New Jersey, where he teaches and trains full-time with his students.
