Mukhammad Shakhbanov
Mukhammad Shakhbanov is a Russian grappler and professional MMA fighter from Dagestan. He is a UWW World Champion and the IBJJF World Champion in the brown belt division.
Born in the village of Shodroda in Dagestan, Mukhammad moved to Makhachkala at the age of five, where he began training in combat sports. His introduction to martial arts came through his older brother, who brought him to an MMA and grappling class. From an early stage he developed a strong foundation in wrestling and grappling, later expanding his skill set with Thai boxing.
Today Mukhammad focuses primarily on grappling and Brazilian jiu-jitsu competition while continuing his professional MMA career, where he maintains an undefeated record of 5–0. His fighting style combines strong wrestling control with submission-oriented jiu-jitsu, allowing him to dictate the pace of matches and control opponents.
Shakhbanov is one of the few athletes to achieve world titles in both international grappling and Brazilian jiu-jitsu, winning the UWW World Championship as well as the IBJJF World Championship at brown belt level. His dynamic performances have also brought him recognition in professional events such as AIGA and ADXC.
