Muhammad Shahbanov
Muhammad Shahbanov is a Russian grappler and professional MMA fighter, a UWW World Champion and the 2024 IBJJF Brown Belt Division World Champion.
Muhammad was born in Shodroda Village, Dagestan, and moved to Makhachkala when he was five years old. He first entered the world of combat training thanks to his older brother, who took him to an MMA/grappling class. It was there that Muhammad began to learn the basics of wrestling and grappling; later, he started combining his MMA training with Thai boxing, and excelled in all these disciplines. Nowadays, he focuses on competing in grappling and Jiu-Jitsu, while still pursuing a professional career in MMA.
In his professional MMA career, Muhammad maintains an impressive undefeated record of five wins and no losses. Among his achievements in grappling and BJJ, the key ones include gold medals at the European and World UWW Championships, as well as a gold medal at the IBJJF Worlds in the brown belt division. He has also gained wider recognition among audiences through his exciting performances in events like AIGA and ADXC.
Characterized by a dynamic blend of wrestling and Jiu-Jitsu, Muhammad’s fighting style allows him to control the pace of matches and deliver thrilling performances.
